Weather/picnic update, July 14

The weather forecast for tomorrow is windy with potential for thundery showers. Between six and nine pm it looks least likely to rain, but the wind might be a problem. However, Bevendean Rec is quite sheltered so we might just get away with it. Check back here for any updates. Here’s the plan for now:

• Bring picnic stuff with lids or covers and things that won’t blow away. I don’t need to say that we need to all collect our own rubbish in ways that won’t blow away too. Let’s all think ahead about that in terms of gusty winds :-)
• Please bring stuff that can easily be packed up if we need to suddenly give up and relocate to 8 Hogs Edge BN2 4NQ. It is walking distance from the rec and there will be some cars going between if we need to go.
• We are planning to erect a couple of gazebos, but we will be assessing the situation on the day. If it’s too windy the gazebos won’t be much use.

Staying positive here, but best to have a back up plan- especially for those who are just doing the picnic part.
